It is mentioned the rising crime case, which includes murder cases resulted in Myanmarese people, taking shelter in Northeastern states.

”We will stop the majority of crossings along the Indo-Myanmar border to prevent illegal influx which is hampering the law and order situation in Mizoram,” an official stated on May 2.

It may be noted Myanmar nationals were recently suspected of killing three Mizoram citizens on the Myanmar side next to the Siaha district in south Mizoram and one in Serchhip.

”Many refugees or illegal immigrants from both Bangladesh and Myanmar have acquired fake Indian identity cards,” the official claimed.

According to another official, after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the state government, the Assam Rifles will gradually move its battalion headquarters from the centre of Aizawl to Zokhawsang.
