On April 21, the Barak Valley region was hit by a massive storm which caused massive damage to property and the death of one child.
Karimganj Hit By Massive Storm
According to reports, more than 400 houses were damaged across the Karimganj district by the massive storm on April 21.
In this regard, Arpita Dutta Mazumdar, the circle officer of the Pathardandi revenue circle, mentioned, ”More than 428 families across five village panchayats were affected by this massive storm. Several houses were completely damaged while many others had their roofs blown off.”
”A 7-year-old child died in the storm. As per the initial report, as many as 14 houses were severely damaged. Our assessment is going on. The affected families will be compensated as per the government norms,” Arpita Dutta Mazumder said further.
