On April 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that technology needs to be brought into play to speed up the justice delivery system in remote areas such as in the Northeast.

While speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Gauhati High Court, the Prime Minister said, ”Technology can help bring justice to remote areas such as in the Northeast.”

He added, ”Artificial Intelligence could be used to further bring Ease of Justice. He mentioned how drones have been used to bring a solution by “mapping properties in over 1 lakh villages under the PM Swamitva Yojana.”

”Alternative dispute resolution systems are vital. The Northeast has rich traditions in this regard,” he continued.

It is mentioned the Prime Minister lauded the Gauhati High Court for recently coming out with a book on customary laws of the region.
