On March 23, Nagaon Police detained three smugglers in connection with a case and recovered a rhino horn. The three smugglers are Khaliluddin, Jakir Hussain, and Akbar Ali.

Notably, the three smugglers were detained in Rupohihat’s Ambagan neighbourhood.
Earlier, two poachers were detained in a joint operation by Biswanath Police and Gohpur Police in Gohpur. The two poachers are Pankaj Pegu and Arvind Pegu.
As per the reports, in the southern region of Gohpur, the two poachers devised a plan to kill a rhino that was emerging from the Sixth Addition of Kaziranga.
The success of this operation is being considered as a remarkable victory in the occurring war against wildlife crime.
