Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday held a crucial meeting with officials from the Border Protection and Development Department to address the ongoing border issues between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The meeting was attended by Assam Border Protection and Development Minister Atul Bora, along with other key officials.

During the meeting, Himanta Biswa Sarma engaged in thorough discussions about the unresolved demarcation areas between the two states.

He instructed officials to take appropriate measures to resolve the longstanding boundary disputes between the two states amicably.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for a peaceful resolution to the current stand-off and encouraged the development of solutions that would be beneficial for the two states.

In April last year, a historic agreement to settle the long-pending border disputes between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.
