The era of militancy and insurgency in Assam has concluded. This was claimed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister made this statement while addressing a public meeting at Charaideo. He attributed the peace to the initiatives taken by BJP-led Central government.
CM Sarma underscored that significant strides have been made for progress in Assam during BJP regime. He highlighted a recent roadshow of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Tinsukia, noting the absence of extensive security measures.
Recalling the dark days of the past, the Chief Minister reminisced about frequent incidents of bombings, IED explosions, and tragic loss of lives, particularly among the youth and law enforcement personnel.
He emphasized the remarkable transformation evident in the present scenario, noting the absence of insurgency not only in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh but also in other regions like Karbi Anglong and eastern Assam.
