Delhi Education Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader Atishi Marlena arrived in Margherita Central Field for an election campaign on April 9. She came to support Manoj Dhanowar, the candidate for the 13th Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency.

Over 2000 AAP members and workers were present while Atishi Marlena was welcomed with a grand motorcycle rally from Margherita Makum Pather to Margherita Central Field.
In her address, she criticized the BJP-led Union and state governments for their failure to fulfill the promises they made to the people of Assam.
The AAP strongly opposes the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and this is an important issue for it in the Lok Sabha polls in Assam, Atishi Marlena said.
Speaking to the media, Atishi Marlena questioned why, when the government was unable to provide jobs and houses to its own people, controversial Draconian Law like the Citizenship (Amendment) Act is being brought in to create problems by bringing people from other countries?
