Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Assam for Lok Sabha poll campaigning on April 6. This was informed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Himanta Biswa Sarma further informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda are also expected to visit the state soon.
Assam will go to polls for Lok Sabha elections in three phases. Voting for the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam are slated to be held in three phases on April 19, April 26 and May 7.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP secured victory in nine out of the 14 parliamentary constituencies in Assam. The Congress secured victory in three seats, whereas the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) won one seat.
