Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge Will Be Dedicated To People After July 2025: Himanta Biswa Sarma
The Chief Minister shared updates after inspecting the construction site on the South Bank. “Work on the upcoming Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge is progressing well, and we plan to dedicate it to the people after July 2025,” he said.
The new bridge is set to enhance connectivity between the North and South banks of the Brahmaputra, easing traffic congestion and providing a significant boost to regional development.
Once operational, the bridge will be toll-free for all vehicles except trucks and super buses. “Trucks will pay a heavy toll fee. This measure will prevent trucks from entering the city and encourage them to take the highway route during night hours,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
