In line with the 2020 Bodo Accord, the Assam Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has approved the inclusion of 19 villages into the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

The decision to incorporate these villages into the BTR marks a key step in fulfilling the commitments outlined in the Bodo Accord.
Additionally, the Cabinet also approved several other transformative measures aimed at boosting Assam’s infrastructure and economic growth.
Among these, the Land and Space Lease Management Policy, 2024 stands out as a major initiative designed to attract investments in IT Parks and Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMCs) within the state.
The Cabinet accepted the report of a sub-committee addressing GST-related issues, in a move to support small traders.
