Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has said that the state government will spend Rs 5,000 crore in the tourism sector in the next two years and it plans to create over 50,000 jobs in the state.

Meghalaya Government Plans To Invest Rs 1,500 Crore In IT Sector: Conrad K Sangma

The Chief Minister said this while addressing the convocation ceremony of the ICFAI University Meghalaya on Friday.

He said in the Information Technology (IT) sector the government plans to invest Rs 1,500 crore and generate over 20,000 jobs.

Sangma asked the youths to adapt to changes and said that submarine cables will be set up by a service provider to improve communication besides setting up of a three-tier data centre.
