Jeep, Elephant Safaris At Orang National Park To Close For Tourists From May 15

The closure will go into effect on May 15, and remain in place for this tourist season until further notice. Tourists can expect the park to reopen for safari tours in October 2024.

The announcement was made by the Divisional Forest Officer of Mangaldai Wildlife Division. Park authorities routinely close the park during the monsoon season to protect the wildlife residing there. It serves as a preventative measure.

Park authorities aim to reduce potential harm to the ecosystem. Jeep and elephant safaris are popular activities for visitors, offering a unique opportunity to see these animals up close in their natural habitat.
