Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa on Tuesday claimed that state Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah would join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2025.

Speaking to the media in Lakhimpur, the Chief Minister said that he was sure that in 2025 Bhupen Kumar Borah would join the BJP.
He made the statement while responding to a question where he was asked if he would face Bhupen Kumar Borah as an opponent in the 2026 Assembly elections.
CM Sarma further claimed that by 2026 there would be no Congress in the Hindu-majority areas and by 2032 it would also be “removed” from the Muslim-majority area.
