A day after resigning from the Congress, senior politician Rana Goswami has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a formal programme in Guwahati on February 29.
Opposition Leader Debabrata Saikia Demanded Rana Goswami To Reveal The Reason For His Resignation
Rana Goswami resigned from all posts in the Congress on February 28. He was rumoured to join the BJP but there was no official or direct confirmation from him after the resignation.
On February 29, Rana Goswami officially joined the BJP in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and party president Bhabesh Kalita at the Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati.
He has not made any official statement regarding his decision to switch sides. However, the Leader of the Opposition at the Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia demanded Rana Goswami to reveal the reason for his resignation from the Congress.
