Meghalaya CM Presents Budget For 2024-25 With Fiscal Deficit Of Rs 2,029 Crore

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on February 21 presented a budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, projecting a deficit of Rs 2,029 crore, which is around 3.83 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

The Chief Minister christened the budget as ‘Mission 10’, envisioning the transformation of Meghalaya into a 10 billion US dollar economy by 2028.

Presenting the budget with a fiscal deficit of Rs 2,029 crore, Conrad K Sangma, who also holds the portfolio of Meghalaya Finance Minister, emphasized its significance as a blueprint for realizing the ‘Mission 10’ goal by 2028.

He also claimed that Meghalaya’s commitment to be among the top ten states in per capita GDP and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) attainment by 2032 is ambitious but possible.
