The Assam government on January 18 declared a half-holiday on January 22 in the state ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“All state government offices and educational institutions across the state of Assam will remain closed till 2:30 pm on account of this holiday,” the state government notice reads.

The decision will encourage the people of Assam to actively involve themselves in the celebrations of the auspicious occasion of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha.

The Central government on January 18 issued a notice which mentions half-day closing till 2:30 pm on 22nd January 2024, at all Central government offices, Central institutions and Central industrial establishments throughout India on the occasion of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple.
