During a press interaction in Imphal on December 25, N. Biren Singh emphasized the necessity of patience in resolving the issue, acknowledging the time required for a comprehensive solution.

He reacted to the Kuki-Zo protesters‘ blockade on designated routes (Imphal-Kangpokpi-Senapati and Imphal-Bishnupur-Churachandpur), following the government’s notification to reopen these paths with enhanced security measures.

The Manipur CM reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to refrain from employing disproportionate force. He made a heartfelt appeal to those involved in the crisis to cease violence and initiate constructive dialogues.

To promote reconciliation, he urged organisations like Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum and Committee on Tribal Unity to recognise the futility of violence, emphasising the need for peaceful resolution.
