Two tax inspectors named in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-job scam on December 26 arrived at the office of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Assam Police in Guwahati for questioning.

The two gazetted officers have been identified as Jayanta Doley and Priyanka Deka. According to reports, both officials got their jobs through unfair practices.
As per the information received, Jayanta Doley didn’t pass the APSC mains examination, following which the prime accused of the scam, Rakesh Paul increased his marks.
Similarly, Priyanka Deka scored low marks during the examination and her marks have been manipulated. The SIT interrogated both officials at the CID headquarters. Further investigation is underway.
