Arrested Assam Civil Service (ACS) officer Rakesh Das has been taken into four-day custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Assam Police, reports emerged on December 7.
APSC Cash-For-Job Scam
Raskesh Das was arrested in connection to the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-job scam on November 29. He was reportedly sent to seven-day custody of the SIT earlier.
On the other hand, Additional Deputy Commissioner Police (ADCP) of the Guwahati Crime Branch, Sukanya Das was arrested for her alleged involvement in the APSC cash-for-job scam on November 4 and was sent to five-day custody of the SIT.
The SIT had summoned two Assam Police Service (APS) officers Faruk Ahmed and Ashima Kalita to appear before the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on December 7 for interrogation into the APSC cash-for-job scam.
As per sources, Faruk Ahmed and Ashima Kalita were interrogated by SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta. The SIT also conducted the medical tests of the two tainted police officers.
