Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on November 19 alleged neglect on the part of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre and accused it of creating an economic crisis in the southern state.

Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Centre’s policies were “financially strangulating” Kerala. He also lashed out at the Congress-led UDF, accusing it of being a silent spectator to the same.
The Kerala CM said that the Union government through its various policies has been “financially strangulating the left government” since it came to power back in 2016.
“At the same time, the Congress and the UDF opposition led by it were being a mute spectator to this discrimination. Why this hesitancy in speaking out against the actions of the Centre which are against the state and its people?” he asked.
At a press conference on November 19, the Kerala CM blamed the Centre for the economic crisis in the state and accused the UDF opposition of using the opportunity to tarnish the left government’s popularity.
