A 31-year-old youth from Assam’s Gaurisagar was detained by the police in connection with giving death threat to state cabinet minister Atul Bora.

This comes after Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh directed the Crime Investigation Department (CID) to take legal action over the matter pertaining to a death threat issued against Atul Bora in the comment section of a post on social media.
GP Singh said that a 31-year-old youth from Bamun Moran village in Gaurisagar of Sivasagar district has been picked up for his Facebook post, which allegedly threatened the Agriculture Minister of the state.
Earlier on November 14, in the comment section of a Facebook post of a regional news portal, a user posted a threat against Atul Bora.
The threat further mentioned that a bomb was planted in his quarters and that this was done by the proscribed militant organization ULFA-I.
