Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on November 2 said that both India and Bhutan share a unique relationship.

“Bharat (India) and Bhutan share a unique relationship which has strengthened with the passage of time,” CM Sarma said on X. “For centuries, knowledge and education have been central to this special bond,” he added.
The Guwahati traffic police department has imposed restrictions on movement of vehicles in the city for the visit of Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
During his ‘personal’ visit to Assam, Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will attend a cultural event to be organised by the Assam government. Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will host the Bhutanese King for dinner.
He will travel to the Kaziranga National Park on November 4. The same day, CM Sarma will host the Bhutanese King for dinner in Kaziranga.
