3,000 Displaced Families Relocated To Newly Constructed Prefabricated Houses, Says Manipur CM

Around 3,000 families in Manipur had been relocated from the relief camps to newly constructed prefabricated houses, state Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said.

Addressing a function, CM Biren Singh said that the Central government would provide financial assistance for construction of new houses for those whose houses had been burnt down during the ethnic clashes.

The financial assistance from the Central government would be given in two to three installments, he said, adding that the government had started taking up the process for the same.

CM Biren Singh said that experts from departments like agriculture, horticulture, industries and others had been made to interact and assist the displaced people, so that the latter could take up suitable activities for earning their livelihood.
