The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on October 5 forecasted extremely heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim during the next couple of days.

According to the IMD, light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are expected over Assam and Meghalaya, as well as Arunachal Pradesh till October 6.
