Manipur Unrest: Governor Anusuiya Uikey Meets Families Of Two Deceased Students, Reaffirms Commitment To Justice

Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on September 29 visited the grieving families of two deceased students, Hijam Linthoingambi (18) and Phijam Hemanjit (20).

The Governor’s visit aimed to offer solace to the families and reaffirm the commitment to justice. The Governor met the family members of the two students at their respective residences in Imphal West district, a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan said.

“The Governor consoled the parents of the two students and gave water to the mothers who were on fast for many days,” it added.

During her visit, Governor Uikey emphatically declared that those responsible for this tragic situation would face the full force of the law.

Speaking to the media, the Governor made a appeal to parents, urging them to advise their children to engage in peaceful forms of protest and to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
