NASA Planning To Crash International Space Station

The American space agency has issued a proposal for the development of the US Deorbit Vehicle (USDV), a spacecraft designed to safely deorbit the International Space Station as part of its planned retirement.

The USDV is planned to be a critical component of the strategy to ensure the safe and controlled decommissioning of the International Space Station .

Five space agencies (NASA, the European Space Agency, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, the Canadian Space Agency, and Russia’s Roscosmos) have operated the International Space Station since 1998. The partners have committed to operate the station until 2030, with Russia committing until at least 2028.

At the end of the International Space Station program, the station will be deorbited in a controlled manner to avoid populated areas. The safe deorbit of the International Space Station is a shared responsibility of all five space agencies, based on their respective contributions to the station.
