Russia’s defence ministry stated that Ukraine attacked a Black Sea naval shipyard with 10 cruise missiles and three uncrewed speedboats in the early hours, damaging two military vessels that had been undergoing repairs.

“We confirm a large landing vessel and submarine were hit. We do not comment on the means (used) for the strike,” Ukrainian military intelligence official Andriy Yusov told Reuters.

Images circulating over the internet, which the BBC has yet to verify, show several large explosions in the area.

The Governor of the Odesa region, Oleh Kiper said on Telegram, “Several groups of drones were launched at the Izmail district. Unfortunately, there were hits: damage to port and other civil infrastructure was recorded.”
