Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 30 has inaugurated the much-awaited flyover at Maligaon in Guwahati which was named as ‘Nilachal Flyover’ a few hours before inauguration.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had told the press that its name would be ‘Maligaon Flyover’ during a visit to the work of the flyover.
An entry board written ‘Maligaon Flyover’ was installed on the flyover. But last night the name was changed to ‘Nilachal Flyover’.
A traffic advisory was issued on August 29 in the wake of the inauguration for commuters heading to Bharalu from the Jalukbari area.
A day before the inauguration, Sarma shared a video on X displaying the ariel view of the flyover with the captioned, “Tomorrow, we will be dedicating Assam’s longest flyover to the people.”
