Gauhati High Court Seeks Report From Finance Ministry, ED On Investigation Into Money Laundering Involving APPSC
The Gauhati High Court sought a status report from the Finance Ministry and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the investigation into a money laundering case involving the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Itanagar Bench Of High Court Issued Order On August 1
Based on a PIL filed by rights activist Payi Gyadi, the Itanagar Bench of the High Court issued the order on August 1.
A bench comprising Justices Nani Tagia and Mitali Thakuria remarked that in its affidavit, the ED said it initiated an investigation after recording a case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
The court asked the Finance Ministry and the ED to file another affidavit within two weeks indicating the status of the investigation.
It is to be mentioned here one Gyamar Padung, who appeared in one of the examinations, registered a complaint at the Itanagar Police Station on August 29, 2022, saying he suspected that the question paper was leaked.
