Meghalaya CM Seeks PM Modi’s Intervention To Resolve Border Disputes With Assam

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, alongside Speaker of the Meghalaya Assembly Thomas Sangma and cabinet ministers, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 8 seeking his invervention to resolve the border disputes with Assam.

Meghalaya Delegation Submits Memorandum To PM Modi

The delegation led by the Chief Minister submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister in this regard.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji heard our concerns, and assured to look into it. We thank him for giving us this opportunity,” Sangma said.

The Chief Minister sought the intervention of Modi for the resolving disputes in the remaining six out of twelve disputed areas between Assam and Meghalaya.

To assess the present status of the remaining six disputed areas, Sangma told the Prime Minister on the reconstitution of three regional committees.
