Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha, under Rajya Sabha’s Rule 267, has issued a Suspension of Business notice to the Chairperson in the House over demand to discuss on the breakdown of law and order in violence-hit Manipur.

In his notice, the AAP Rajya Sabha MP wrote, “The violence in Manipur has resulted in loss of precious lives due to failure and incompetence of the Central and State Governments.”
Chadha demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should make a statement on the floor of the House on the Manipur issue, followed by a detailed and comprehensive discussion on this issue. Ethnic clashes erupted in Manipur on May 3.
It is to be mentioned here any member of Rajya Sabha can issue a notice to the Chairperson for a discussion on any subject under Rule 267.
