Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on July 30 inaugurated the newly constructed Assam Legislative Assembly building at Dispur in Guwahati.

It is to be mentioned that the Assembly operated from a converted tea warehouse after Dispur became the capital in 1972.
The inaugural ceremony will be graced by several dignitaries, including Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rameshwar Teli.
The new assembly building is a sign of modernity and progress. It is outfitted with cutting-edge technology. The state has witnessed the inauguration of its new permanent assembly building after 51 years.
