The Assam Police has dismissed 24 cops from service since February 2023. This was informed by Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh.
Assam DGP Issues Slew Of Measures To Keep Police Personnel In Check
The Assam DGP said that 24 police personnel of different ranks have been dismissed from service since February 1, 2023.
Taking to Twitter, GP Singh wrote, “In pursuance of the directions given by Hon’ble Chief Minister at the time of assumption of the office of the present @DGPAssamPolice & Head of Police Force of Assam @assampolice has dismissed from service twenty four (24) police personnel of different ranks since February 1st, 2023 till date.”
He recently issued a slew of measures to keep police personnel in check following several reports of police officials being involved in anti-social activities.
The Assam DGP asserted that any Assam Police personnel named in any sexual abuse-related case will be dismissed from duty immediately if found guilty in due investigation.
