An unidentified body was recovered in Mariani in Assam’s Jorhat district, reports emerged on July 3. Reportedly, the body was seen floating on the Bhogdoi River, a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra.

The body was recovered from the river by locals. The locals called in concerned authorities after the body was recovered.
The identity of the deceased has not been established yet. More details are awaited. Earlier on Sunday, a body was recovered from a well inside the premises of Narakasur Jyoti Shangha, a private members’ club situated in Kahilipara area of Guwahati.
The body was found inside the well that is generally used by those who visit the nearby daily market. The deceased was identified as a person named Siku. Reportedly, he worked in a fish market.
