Assam: State Government Planning To Launch City Bus Service In Nalbari District

The Government of Assam intends to launch a city bus service in Nalbari District in the near future. Assam Public Health, Engineering, Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship, and Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah met with ASTC representatives and discussed whether it would be feasible to start a city bus service in Nalbari district.

Jayanta Mallabaruah held a combined meeting at Janata Bhawan with representatives from the tourism and forest departments. They discussed about how both departments will work together to develop Deepor Beel and other parts of the tourism industry.

Jayanta Mallabaruah took to Twitter and wrote, ”Chaired a review meeting with the PHED officials of Tezpur Divisions 1 & 2 and Biswanath Chariali Division in presence of concerned MLAs, DC Sonitpur & officials of district administration and discussed various aspects related to the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission and Swach Bharat Mission at DC conference Hall, Sonitpur.”

According to reports, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) will terminate the employment of up to 771 people who were hired unlawfully. During the time Anand Prakash Tiwari and Khagendra Nath Chetia served as Managing Directors, 2,274 people were hired without following the proper procedures.
