Asom Anusuchit Jati Yuba-Chatra Santha (AAJYCS), the youths and students’ body of the Scheduled Caste community has demanded Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the State Government to initiate steps to spread Dr. BR Ambedkar‘s ideology in the state.

The organization raised the demand through a press release. The AAJYCS president Nripen Das and general secretary Nityanada Das have alleged that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has forgotten the tremendous contributions of Dr. BR Ambedkar towards the betterment of the nation.
“During the drafting of the Constitution of India, Dr. Ambedkar lost his two sons due to lack of treatment. Besides it, he had to suffer a lot in inexplicable misery in that time. Despite this, he had tremendous contributions to the nation’s wellbeing. He recognized gender inequality in Indian society and raised his voice to include them in modern society,” said the press release.
”Dr. Ambedkar gave women the same status as men by enacting many provisions in the Indian Constitution to enhance and empower women. For him, the lack of education for women was the biggest problem in Indian society. His deep concern about the status of women in the society was clearly reflected in the Hindu Code Bill. It shows a chapter on gender equality and justice. The bill gave Indian women absolute rights to all property by recognizing the dignity of women. He was absolutely a social reformer,” the press release further added.
