On April 1, an Army truck skidded off the road and fell into the Teesta River around 11.30 am. As per the inputs, the mishap occurred while the truck was travelling from Siliguri to Gangtok.
Army Truck Falls Into Teesta River
The driver and a passenger were in the vehicle. According to the reports, the passenger sustained severe injuries since he jumped out of the truck.
The passenger is undergoing treatment at Military Hospital. It needs to be mentioned a search and rescue operation is underway to trace the missing driver.
The driver fell into the river along with the vehicle. Notably, Army divers have been deployed to assist in search and rescue operation. Moreover, Kalimpong Superintendent of Police, civilian divers and rafters are assisting in the operation.
