The rising water level prompted the water transport agency to order the suspension of ferry services at Aphalamukh Ferry Ghat.

The rising water levels caused up to three ferry ramps to be flooded. Therefore, ferry services between Nimati Ghat and Aphalamukh Ferry Ghat were restricted.

In this regard, one nearby ferry owner said, ”As the water levels rose, the ferry ramps became submerged. As the river bank is not very stable and some of the land mass is being swept away, we are unable to construct additional ramps. Ferry services will therefore continue to be banned for the foreseeable future.”
