Kaziranga Tiger Fund: Rs 1.1 Crore Spent For Former President Ram Nath Kovind’s Visit
About Rs 1.1 crore, meant for tiger conservation in Kaziranga National Park, was spent for former President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Kaziranga National Park in February 2022, an official reply to an RTI query reveals.

The amount was used to pay for food, tents, carpets and mementoes during the former President’s visit to Kaziranga National Park.
It needs to be mentioned the revelation came in response to Assam-based RTI activist Rohit Choudhury’s petition.
In this regard, the Kaziranga field director’s office said an amount of Rs 1.1 lakh was allegedly diverted from the funds of the Kaziranga Tiger Conservation Foundation.
According to the RTI activist, another Rs 51 lakh was allegedly diverted from a general wildlife fund.
