Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that the state’s economy will be focused on tourism in the future. Manipur Government has identified 57 tourist destinations in order to boost the state’s tourism industry.
Manipur’s Economy Will Be Focused On Tourism
The Chief Minister gave the House the information on March 2, while addressing the policy cut motion in support of the demand for tourism during the ongoing third session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
”Manipur leads the northeastern states in terms of tourism. In order to boost tourism in the state, the current administration has expanded the number of locations where the Sangai festival will be held to 15,” the Chief Minister further added.
”Jessami, the site of the first combat fought on Indian territory between the Japanese and the British during the Second World War, will see more tourism attractions built there by the Manipur Government,” N Biren Singh concluded.
