Assam Cabinet approves Rs 750 crore for the construction of 500 community halls-cum-skill centres in the tea gardens. It is noted the government will construct the centres in prominent tea garden localities.
Assam Cabinet Approves Three Decisions
In this regard, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said, “Mahaprabhu Jagannath Community Hall-cum-Skill Centres will fulfil the long-standing needs of the tea garden community by providing skilling facilities in every tea garden as well as community centres for various cultural and community needs.”
“The Cabinet sanctioned Rs 104 crore to meet the interest subvention requirement for the financial year 2022–23 under the Apon Ghar Scheme. This scheme benefited government employees by allowing them to obtain housing loans. Altogether, 36,159 employees have availed of benefits under this scheme,” Mahanta further added.
“The Cabinet approved the Assam Soil Conservation Service Rules, 2023, to streamline administration in the Soil Conservation Department,” Mahanta concluded.
